Overview
Psychiatry deals protection of public’s mental health, prevention of psychiatric diseases and diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with psychiatric disease(s). Principal areas of focus include evaluation, detection, treatment and prevention of problems in mental and emotional well being and behaviors as well as adaptation to the environment. Early detection and treatment of psychiatric diseases in children may help prevention of both physical and mental diseases in adults.
